Heart of the home or hub in a restaurant. A quiet moment from London’s Le Pain Quotidien, Borough Market.
A soft spot for this brand – they offer almond milk.
The Art Car Boot Fair
If you know what you’re looking for or are up for a surprise get there early and you may find some jewels. Arriving with the hordes later on is not the best way to experience this. I found this out. There were some great pieces but the queues were too long to stand in mid-afternoon!

The Photographers’ Gallery is one of many Galleries in London just off the beaten track worth visiting. Close to Oxford Circus, set discretely down an alley – seek it out and you will understand why. The work is beautifully curated and exhibited, has a great cafe with delicious cakes and lovely, crisp, sharp signage throughout the building. The Invigilators share their knowledge and enthusiasm for the work exhibited and they know their stuff. It is free if you choose to walk quickly past the suggested donation box! There is lift access and it is a great introduction to contemporary art for young children as you don’t have to stay for ages (although they do have lots of Education Events). Whether you pay or not you leave feeling the world is in a better place. Makes you proud to live in London.
